The BOXFiSH Teaching Method
Making English Become a Natural Instinct
-
Pronunciation First, Sound Combinations
At BOXFiSH we believe that every student should start by studying the correct pronunciation. With a strong foundation in phonics and having mastered the laws of English pronunciation, the student can then immediately read a new word upon first sight, and write down a new word after listening to it. This is the first goal, and will make future learning much easier.
-
Contextualized Learning
Farewell to memorizing long lists of words! BOXFiSH uses imagery alongside new words to help students remember and cement it in their vocabulary. By providing an image based context, students find it easier to retrieve the word and use it accurately, greatly helping them express themselves in English.
-
Question and Answer Dialogue
BOXFiSH has completely revamped the way students read dialogues. Rather than sentence upon sentence with no time to think or interact, BOXFiSH uses an image based one question, one answer approach. The student can also listen to the short dialogue which, recorded by a native English speaker, helps them to acquire an accent with native pronunciation. This approach makes it easier for the student to remember the dialogue content and also instils them with more confidence to speak and practice what they are reading/listening.
-
Logic Tree For Breaking Up Long Sentences
BOXFiSH has discarded the use of complex grammar rules and patterns for explaining the combination of words, and instead deconstructs each sentence into simple blocks which provide logical clarity. This greatly enhances the students’ understanding of long sentences, also enabling them to read more easily.
-
Efficient Classroom, Targeted Teaching
Every teacher can use BOXFiSH to provide their students, according to their grade, with a wide selection of self-selected examination questions. As the BOXFiSH APP collects a vast array of data on each student, the teacher can check these statistics at any time to understand a student’s individual learning situation. This creates a much more effective approach to monitoring progress and a teacher can fully understand the needs of each student.
-
Teaching focuses on Learning
Learning should be personalized and independent so BOXFiSH has created a more efficient learning environment for each student by providing personalized course recommendations according to their personal circumstances. BOXFiSH also promotes the use of games and competition in English learning which significantly encourages students to learn and love the process of doing it.
